Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of the numbers = 8 : 13

Let the two numbers be 8x and 13x .

When 14 is added to these numbers the ratio becomes 2 : 3 .

\longrightarrow \frac{8x + 14}{13x + 14} = \frac{2}{3}⟶

13x+14

8x+14

=

3

2

\longrightarrow 3(8x+14) =2(13x+14)⟶3(8x+14)=2(13x+14)

\longrightarrow 24x +42 = 26x + 28⟶24x+42=26x+28

\longrightarrow 26x - 24x = 42-28⟶26x−24x=42−28

\longrightarrow 2x = 14⟶2x=14

\longrightarrow x = 7⟶x=7

The numbers are 56 and 91 .

Answer:

x/y= 8/13

13x= 8y............(i)

x= 8/13y

x+14/y+14= 2/3

3x+ 42= 2y+28

3x-2y= -14

3(8/13y) -2y = -14

24y - 26y = -14*13

-2y= -14*13

y= 7*13

y= 91

x= 8/13*91

x= 8*7

x= 56

so the numbers are 91 and 56.....
