Both the resistors are in parallel .
So, Req = R₁R₂/(R₁ + R₂) = 500 × 500/(500 + 500) = 250Ω
Hence, combined resistance will be 250Ω
For parallel combination, we should use P = V²/R
so, R₁ = V²/P₁ and R₂ = V²/P₂
also Req = V²/P
Now, 1/Req = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂
P/V² = P₁/V² + P₂/V²
⇒P = P₁ + P₂ = 1W + 1W = 2W
Also P₁ = P₂ = 1W
