Here is the equation:

2 (2 + x) = 37
(Multiply the "2" by the whole parenthesis):

4 + 2x = 37
(Commutative Property)

2x = 37-4

2x = 33

X = 33/2

Testing:

33 + 2² =
(Raise the power of 2)

33 + 4 = 37

Two numbers that can give 37 are 33 and 4 in which 4 is a perfect square. Finding perfect squares below 37 gives the numbers 4,9,16,25. Another sets are 9 and 28,16and21, 25and12 in all these one no. is perfect square.
