Let x and y are the two numbers

ACC to question

X+ y = 55

y = 55- x

and

x÷y = q= 2 and r = 7

so we can write it as

divident = divisor × quotient + remainder

X = 2y + 7

putting the value of y

X = 2 ( 55- x ) +7

X = 110 - 2x +7

X= 117 -2x

3x = 117

X = 117/3

X= 39

y = 55-39

y=16
