If m1, m2 are masses, and v1, v2 are velocities then

Velocity of center of mass = m1v1 + m2v2 / m1 + m2

This expression can be extended to many number of masses and velocities too.

Given Masses = 0.2kg , 0.5kg.

Velocities = 10i, 3i + 5j m/s

The Velocity of centre of mass = 0.2(10i)+ 0.5(3i+5j) / 0.2+0.5

= 2i + 1.5 i + 2.5j / 0.7

= 3.5i+2.5j/0.7

=35i+25j/7

=( 5i + 25/7 j ) m/s .
