Two objects A and B of mass 5 kg and 3 kg respectively are
moving in the same straight line but in opposite directions. The
velocity of object of object A and B are 2 m/s and 4 m/s respectively
before the collision during which they stick together. What will be
the velocity of the combined object after collision?

5*2+3*4=(5+3)*v

Explanation:

By conversation of momentum,

Initial momentum=Final momentum

Final answer=11/4 and u and also convert in decimals

Answer:

the velocity of the combined object after collision will be 1/4 m/s

Explanation:

Given :

m1 = 5kg

m2 = 3kg

v1 = 2m/s

v2 = 4m/s

Combined = M = (m1+m2)

Let the velocity of the combined system after the collision be v

Applying conservation of momentum before and after the collision :

m2v2 - m1v1 = Mv

3(4) - 5(2) = (3+5)v

v = 1/4 m/s
