Given - Mass of object 1 - 1 × 10-³ kg

Mass of object 2 - 4 × 10-³ kg

Find - Ratio of kinetic energy of the two masses.

Solution - Kinetic energy and momentum are related in the form of equation as -

Kinetic energy = p²/2m,

where p is momentum and m is mass.

Since both the objects have equal momentum, hence kinetic energy will be calculated as -

KE1/KE2 = M2/M1

KE1/KE2 = 4*10-³/1*10-³

KE1/KE2 = 4:1

Hence, ratio of kinetic energy of objects is - b) 4:1.
