Two objects of masses 2 kg and 3 kg are moving in the same direction with velocities 5 m/s and 2m/s. After collision these objects stick together. What will be the velocity of the combined object after collision ?

Answer: momentum of object1= 2x5 kgm/s

= 10 kgm/s

momentum of object2= 3x2 kgm/s

= 6 kgm/s

momentumafterclash= 10 kgm/s-6 kgm/s=4 kgm/s

Combined mass= 2kg+3kg=5kg

Velocity= momentum/mass

= 4 kgm/s/5kg

= 0.8 m/s
