Two objects of masses 200 grams and 400 grams are moving along the same line and direction with velocities of 4 metre per second and 2 metre per second respectively they collide and after the collision the first object moves at a velocity of 3.34 metre per second determine the velocity of the second object

there is no mention of type of collision.

please use momentum conservation which is true for every collision

m1= 200g

m2 = 400g

u1=4m/s

u2= 2m/s

v1=3.34m/s

v2=?

use m1u1 + m2u2= m1v1+ m2v2

200*4+400*2= 200*3.34 +400*v2

v2= 2.33m/s

m1= 200g = 200÷1000 = 0.2kg

m2= 400g = 400÷1000 = 0.4kg

u1 = 4m/s

u2 = 2m/s

v1 = 3.34m/s

v2=?

m1u1 + m2u2 =  m1v1 + m2v2

0.2×4 + 0.4×2 = 0.2×3.34 + 0.4×v2

0.8 + 0.8 = 0.668 + 0.4 v2

0.16 - 0.668 = 0.4 v2

-0.508÷0.4 = v2

-1.27m/s = v2

HOPE THE ANSWER IS HELPFUL TO YOU:)
