position of object q = 16.667cm.

Given:

  • Two objects P and q are placed on different positions in front of a Concave mirror.
  • Focal length = 20 cm.
  • Produces image of same size.
  • The size of object p is 3 times the size of object q.
  • The object p is placed at 50 cm in front of mirror.

To find:

        position of object q

Explanation:

  • In concave mirror if the object placed After the focal length and upto infinity the object size will be small when come closer to the focus length the object size should be large.
  • From the above information it is clear that the object must be close to the mirror to get the large size object.
  • The size of object p is 3 times the size of object q and placed at 50 cm in front of mirror. If we obtain image size of q is same that of image p we must place object q near to the mirror.
  • so The object q distance = \frac{50}{3} = 16.667 cm from mirror.
  • position of object q = 16.667cm.
