The Emperor ordered two of his officers to search Gulliver's pockets before granting him liberty, as it was the law of the land. The officers found the following articles in his pocket: a handkerchief (which was like a carpet for them), a silver box( his snuff box), a journal book, a comb, wallet with money and gold coins in it, a knife, a razor, a pocket watch, a sword, a gun and several bullets. All these items were shown to the Emperor to examine. The sword and the pistol and the ammunition were sent to store, and the remaining things were returned to Gulliver.
