two of the most commonly used salts are NaCl and NaHCO3. find out which of these is used as baking soda. as a preservative in pickles and in preserving meat and fish and also think of the respective reasons for doing so.

nahco3 contains carbon... thts y its used as bking soda... tis used for preservation bcoz it has co2 which resists food to get oxidized.. hence prevents from spoiling...
