Given : Two papers M and N have identical dimension of 6m ∗ 4m.

Operation 1: Folded the paper joining the short sides

Operation 2: Folded the paper joining the longer sides.

 operation 1 is done on paper M and operation 2 is done on paper N,

To Find :  ratio of perimeter of paper N to M

Solution:

papers M and N have identical dimension of 6m ∗ 4m.

Folded the paper  M joining the shorter sides

Hence Length remains  = 6/2 = 3 m

width = 4 m

Perimeter = 2( 3 + 4)  = 14 m

Folded the paper  N joining the longer sides

Hence Width remains  = 4/2 = 2 m

Length = 6 m

Perimeter = 2( 6 + 2)  = 16 m

ratio of perimeter of paper N to M   = 16 : 14

= 8 : 7

8 : 7  is the ratio of perimeter of paper N to M
