Explanation:because the distance between the two mirrors is 20 cm and the object is placed between and is having 5 cm distance from one of the mirror so the distance of the object with the another mirror is 20 - 15=15 cm.The distance of the object infront of the mirror is same as the distance of the object behind the mirror.So,5cm behind the first mirror,the distance between both the mirrors 20 cm and the distance behing=d the second mirrror is 15 cm.so after calculating 5 cm+20 cm+15 cm=40 cm.
