The electric field will be zero in the region:

(d) Both (I) and (III)

- The electric field is directed away from the positively charged plate and directed towards the negatively charged plate.

- So, in the region (I) and (III), the field due to +σ is towards the right and towards the left due to -σ.

- Hence, the electric field cancels out and the resultant field is Zero.

- In region (II), the field is towards the same direction (i.e., to the right) due to both +σ and -σ and hence it adds up.

- So, the correct answer is option (d).
