Given info : two parallel plates of area 5.68 × 10¯⁴ m² have equal and opposite charges of 8.38 × 10¯¹¹ C placed on them.

To find : the electric field between the plates is ...

solution : electric field between the two parallel plates is given by, E = Q/Aε₀

here Q = 8.38 × 10¯¹¹ C , A = 5.68 × 10¯⁴ m², ε₀ = 8.85 × 10¯¹² C²/Nm²

so, E = (8.38 × 10¯¹¹)/(5.68 × 10¯⁴ × 8.85 × 10¯¹²)

= 0.1667 × 10⁵ N/C

= 1.667 × 10⁴ N/C

Therefore the electric field between the plates is 1.667 × 10⁴ N/C.
