Two particles A and B are at positions (1,2,3) m and (-2,-4,-6)m respectively. The particle A moves with a velocity of (i+j+k)m/s and B moves with velocity Vb, simultaneously. If they collide after 2 sec then find the velocity of B in m/s is
(a)√105
(b) 105
(c) √(105/2)
(d) 105/2

Answer:

Let us consider the values as following:

r

1

=(3i+5j)m

r

2

=(−5i+3j)m

v

1

=(4i−4j)m/s

andletv

2

be=(−ai−3j)m/s

t=2sec

If two particles collides after time "t" they travel equal distance.

r

1

+v

1

t=r

2

+v

2

t

(3i+5j)+(4i−4j)×2=−5i+3j+(−ai−3j)2

onsolvingweget,

3i+8i+5j−8j=−5i+3j−2ai−6i

11i+5i−3j=−2ai−3j

16i=−2ai

a=
