Suppose v is the velocity of the centre of mass of the system. So we have
(m1+m2)vc=m1v1+m2v2 ⇒3vc=2×2+1×5=9 ⇒vc=9/3 =3 m/s
So the velocity of the centre of mass is 3 m/s
(m1+m2)vc=m1v1+m2v2 ⇒3vc=2×2+1×5=9 ⇒vc=9/3 =3 m/s
So the velocity of the centre of mass is 3 m/s
