Two particles of mass m and 2m are connected by a spring. If the particle m has acceleration of 0.4m/s2 what is the relative acceleration between the particles

accleration of mass 'm' is 0.4 m/s^2 (given)

force acting on 'm'

= + kx

force acting on '2m'

= -kx

relative accleration= A(m) - A(2m)

= kx/m - (-kx/2m)

2m ------- 0.4m/s2

m------ 0.2m/s2

relative acc = 0.2 m/s2 - (-0.4)

= 0.6 m/s2
