second while travelling in opposite directions.
They get 2.4 m closer every second while
travelling in the same direction. The speeds of
P and Q are respectively:

Answer:Velocity of one car = 4.2m/s

Velocity of second car = 1.8m/s

Explanation:

The relative velocity of one car w.r.t other car moving in opposite direction, v12 = v1 + v2

Distance travelled in one second, d = 6m

v1 + v2 =6m....(1)

Relative velocity of one car w.r.t other car moving in same direction, v12' = v1 - v2

Distance travelled in one second, d' = 2.4m

v1 - v2 = 2.4m ...(2)

Adding the two equations,

Velocity of one car = 4.2m/s

Velocity of second car = 1.8m/s

Hope it will help you
