Given :  two pegs on a wall are 4.5m apart .

the distance between them measured parallel to the floor is 3.6m .

if one peg is 1.5m above the floor .

To  find : height of the second and its inclination with floor

Solution:

Horizontal Distance   =  3.6 m

Distance  = 4.5 m

Vertical Distance = ?

Distance² = (Horizontal Distance)² + (Vertical Distance)²

=>  4.5² = 3.6²  + (Vertical Distance)²

=>  Vertical Distance = 2.7 m

height of the second  from floor  =  1.5 + 2.7  = 4.2 m

inclination with floor can not be find until  a specific point on floor is mentioned

Assume point just below other peg

Then  tanα  = 4.2/3.6

=> α =  tan⁻¹(7/6)  = 49.4°
