according to question

2x+3y =540. -1

3x+2y=380 .-2

on multiple by 2 in equation 1 we get 4x+6y=1080.

again multiple by 3 in equation 2 we get 9x+6y=1140 .

on subtracting equation I from 2 we get X=12 .

now putting the value of X=12 in equation 1 we get y=172 .

since cost of pen is 12 rupees

and cost of diaries is 172 rupees .
