Given :

  • Two persons A and B earn hourly.
  • A earns Rs.80 in 7 hours.
  • B earns Rs.90 in 12 hours.

To Find :

  • Ratio of their Earnings.

Solution :

Given Conditions :

⠀⟶⠀Earning of A in 7 hours = ₹80

⠀⟶⠀Earning of B in 12 hours = ₹90

Earnings in 1 hour :

⠀⟶⠀Earning of A in 7 hours = ₹80

⠀⟶⠀Earning of A in 1 hour = 80/7

⠀⟶⠀Earning of B in 12 hours = ₹90

⠀⟶⠀Earning of B in 1 hour = 90/12

Ratio of their Earnings :

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = Earning of A/Earning of B

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = (80/7)/(90/12)

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = (80 × 12/7 × 90)

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = (8 × 12/7 × 9)

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = (8 × 4/7 × 3)

⠀⟶⠀Ratio = (32/21)

∴ Ratio of their Earning is 32:21
