To Find : the distance between the two persons.​

Solution:

Let say Person standing at P make angle of elevation P with tower height

=> Tan P  =  Tower Height / Distance of P from Bottom of Tower

=> TanP =  60 / Distance of P from Bottom of Tower

=> Distance of P from Bottom of Tower = 60/TanP

=> Distance of P from Bottom of Tower = 60 cot P

Let say Person standing at Q make angle of elevation Q with tower height

=> Tan Q  =  Tower Height / Distance of Q from Bottom of Tower

=> TanQ =  60 / Distance of Q from Bottom of Tower

=> Distance of Q from Bottom of Tower = 60/TanQ

=> Distance of Q from Bottom of Tower = 60 cot Q

As P & Q are in opposite direction

Hence distance between the two persons.​  = 60 cot P + 60 cot Q
