Two persons could fit new windows in a house in 3 days (1) One of the persons fell ill before the work started. How long would the job take now ?(2) How many persons would be needed to fit the windows in one day?

let x be no of workers and y as the no of days
$2x = 3y$
1) then
$x = 2 \times 3y$

because the no of workers and the no of days are inversely proportional.

From the above equation we can know that 1 man can do the work in 2*3 that is 6 days.

2) The condition is the no of days should be equal to 1.
Then the equation is
$x = 6y$
that is
$y = 6x$
this tells us that 6 workers should be needed to complete the work in a day.
