Two persons manage to push a motorcar of mass 1,200kg at a uniform velocity along a level road. The same motorcar can be pushed by three persons to produce an acceleration of 0.2 ms^-2. With what force does each person push the motorcar?

[Assume that all persons push the motorcar with the same muscular effort]

\huge\bold\purple{Answer:-}

Here, m= 1,200 kg, a= 0.2 ms^-2

Clearly, the unbalanced force is exerted when the third person applies the force.

Therefore,

Force applied by the third person= ma= 1,200 × 0.2

= 240 N

Now, as all the three persons push the motorcar with the same muscular effort, force exerted by each person = 240 N.

Hope it helps...:-)

\huge\underline\mathfrak\purple{Solution}

Given

Mass = 1200kg

accleration = 0.2m/s²

Force = ?

we all know that

force = mass × acceleration

= 1200 × 0.2 = 240Newton
