The ratio of resistance will also be 3:1 because resistance is directly proportional to length..

Let resistivity be x and area be y. Both resistivity and area will be same in both the wires as both of them hace been cutted down from same wire.
So,
R1=xL1/y
R2=xL2/y

So, R1/R2=L1/L2
as all other things canceled out.
so, R1:R2=L1:L2=3:1

RaunakRaj: also try short methods. Why to long and waste time?
RaunakRaj: but if u want then you can take resistivity be x and area be y. So both the thing will be same in both wires as they have been cutted down from same wires
