Step-by-step explanation:
given :
Two pieces of lengths 1×1/3m,3×1/4 are cut off from a rope 12m long. What is the length of the remaining ppipe
to find :
What is the length of the remaining pipe
solution :
- Total length of the rope = 12 m
- If the rope is cut into 3 pieces
- Length of the first piece = 1×1/3m = 4/3 m
- Length of the second piece = 3× 1/4 = 13 /4
- We have to find out length of the third
- piece =x
- x= total length -(length of the first piece +
- length of the second piece)
- = 12 - ( 4/3 + 13/4)
- -11-[(26+33)/10]
- =11/1 - 59/10
- =(110-59)/10
- =51110
- =5 1/10 m
- Therefore
- Length of the remaining piece =x =5 1/10
- m
