Two pink-flowering plants are crossed. The offspring percentages are 25% red, 25% white and 50% pink.

If a red-flowering plant was crossed with a white-flowering plant what would the phenotypes of the offspring be?
A. all red
B. all white
C. all pink
D. half red, half white

My answer would be all pink.

Given the stats on crossing pink and pink , we are getting 25% white and 25% red and 50% pink. Means pink is not pure (Pink will be formed when red and white cross), if pink was pure then we would have got all the pink but we didn't.

  Lets assume Red is RR and White is WW,

if RR  cross  WW ; we will get RW RW RW RW

if we cross RW and RW (pink and pink) as given : we will get RR , RW ,RW ,WW

which verify that pink is formed by Red +white
