Two pipes a and b can fill a tank in 20 and 30 minutes .If both the pipes are used together the tank will fill in ?

Question :---- we have to Find in how much time both will fill the tank ?

Given :----- A can fill it in 20 min and B in 30 min ....

solution :-------

LCM of 20 & 30 = 60 litre (Total work)

Efficiency of A & B = 3 & 2 .

Both fill in per min = 3+2 = 5 litre .

Time to fill complete = $\huge{\frac{</strong><strong>6</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>}{</strong><strong>5</strong><strong>}}$

= $\textbf{</strong><strong>1</strong><strong>2</strong><strong> </strong><strong>minutes</strong><strong>}$

so, both will fill the tank in 12 minutes ..
