let the time taken by larger tank be x
time taken by smaller pipe is (3+x)
part of tank filled by larger pipe 1 hour = 1/x
part of tank filled by smaller pipe in 1 hour=1/3+x
time taken by both the tap is 20 /3
according to the questions
1/x+1/x+3 = 20/3
2x+3/x2 +3x =30/3
(2x+3 )3 =20× x2+3x
6x+9 = 20x2 + 60x
20x254x-9 =0
