Two pistons of a hydraulic lift have area of 6.25 square cm and 900 square cm. What is the force exerted by the larger piston when 50 N is placed on the smaller piston?​

Answer:

Area 1 (A1) = 6.25 cm²

= 0.000625 m²

Area 2 (A2) = 900 cm²

= 0.09 m²

Force 1 (F1) = 50N

According to Pascal's law,

F2/F1 = A2/A1

F2/50 = 0.09/0.000625

F2/50 = 144

F2 = 144*50 N

Force 2 = 7200 N
