let their time of meet be 't'

let 1st boat meet at 'x' distance from its starting point,then

2nd boat meets at (240-x) distance from its starting point

[since both are 240km apart]

Upstream boat velocity = u-v

Downstream boat velocity = u+v

given,

u+v=13

u-v=11

we know that,

velocity=distance/time

Downstream boat

u+v=x/t

13=x/t

x=13t------------------(1)

Upstream boat

u-v=(240-x)/t

11=(240-x)/t-------(2)

put eq(1) in eq(2)

we get t=10hrs

hence after 10hr both boths meet..
