Answer:

the image of an object is viewed in two plane mirrors that are inclined to each other more than one image is formed. The number of images depends on the angle between the two mirrors.

The number of images formed in two plane mirrors inclined at an angle A to each other is given by the formula below for the different cases:

Case(1) : If  (360/A) =Even  then,

       Number of images =(360/A)−1

Case(2) : If  (360/A) =Odd,

        (1) If mirrors are placed symmetrically then,

        Number of images =(360/A)−1

        (2) If mirrors are placed unsymmetrically then,

         Number of images =(360/A)

Here, angle of inclination =600

So, (360/A) =(360/60)=6  [Which is even]

Hence, The no. of images will be =(360/A)−1

Substituting A as 600 in the formula (360/60)−1=6−1=5

Hence, the no. of images formed will be 5.
