in plane mirror, distance of image from mirror is same as the distance of the object from mirror.

Thus distance of mirror Ma from object = 30cm
distance of mirror Mb from object = 90cm

distance between the mirrors=30+90 = 120cm

The Distance Between The Mirrors Is 120 Cm

GIVEN

Two plane mirror - Ma and Mb

Image distance from 'Ma' = 30cm

Image distance from 'Mb' = 90cm

TO FIND

Distance between the two mirrors.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows-

We know that,

Distance of the image from the mirror = Distance from the object from the mirror.

So,

Object distance from Mirror Ma = 30cm

Object distance from the Mirror Mb = 90cm

Since the object is placed between the two mirrors,

Therefore,

Distance between the two mirrors = object distance from Ma + Object distance from Mb

= 30 + 90

= 120cm

Hence, the distance between the mirrors is 120 cm
