Que:- Two plot of land have a same perimeter one is a square of side 60 m and the other is a rectangular of breadth 50 m find the length of the rectangular plot which plot has the greater area and by how much.
Solution:-
Let the length of the Rectangular Field be x m.
Perimeter of Square = Perimeter of Rectangle
=> 4 × 60 = 2 (l + 50)
=> 240 / 2 = l + 50
=> 120 - 50 = l
=> l = 70 m.
Now,
Area of Square = Side × side
=> 60 × 60
=> 3600 m^2.
Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth
=> 70 × 50
=> 3500 m^2.
Area of Square is Greater than Area of Rectangle by 100 m^2.
Solution:-
Let the length of the Rectangular Field be x m.
Perimeter of Square = Perimeter of Rectangle
=> 4 × 60 = 2 (l + 50)
=> 240 / 2 = l + 50
=> 120 - 50 = l
=> l = 70 m.
Now,
Area of Square = Side × side
=> 60 × 60
=> 3600 m^2.
Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth
=> 70 × 50
=> 3500 m^2.
Area of Square is Greater than Area of Rectangle by 100 m^2.

here is ur answer ☺☺
Square perimeter = 4a = 4*60 = 240 m
Square area = 60*60 = 3600 m2
Rectangle perimeter = 2(l+b)
240 = 2(l+15)
120-15=l
l=105
Area = 105*15 = 1575m
Square has larger area
hope it helps you....
