Given, side of square land = 40 m and breadth of rectangular land = 25 m

Let the length of rectangular plot be x m.

Now, perimeter of square plot = 4 × 40 m = 160 m

and perimeter of rectangular plot = 2(x+25) m

According to the given condition,

Perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle

⇒ 2(x+25) = 160

⇒ x+25 = 80

⇒ x = 55 m

Clearly, 55m > 40 m , so the length of rectangular plot is larger than square plot by, 55m - 40m = 15 m
