two plots of land have the same perimeter one is a square of side 54 metre and the other is rectangle of length 70 metre find the breadth of the rectangular plot which plot has the greater area and how much​

Solution

side of square is =54 m

perimeter of the square plot is=(54*4) m

now according to the Question the area of the rectangular plot is also=(54*4)m

now...

2*(length+breadth)=54*4

=>length+breadth=54*2

=>breadth=(108-70)m=38m

breadth of the rectangular plot=38 m

now area of the square plot

=54² m²=2916 m²

and area of the rectangular plot

=(70*38)m²=2660m²

therefore the area of the square plot has the greater area and by(2916-2660)m²=256m²
