perimeter of square=4a
4×64= 256m
perimeter of square=perimeter of rectangle( given)
4a=2(l+b)
4×64=2(70+b)
256=140+2b
2b=256-140
2b=116
b=116÷2
b=58m Ans

Answer:

b = 58 m

area of square is greater than the area of rectangle by 36 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

2(l+b) = 4a

2(70+b) = 4*64

70+b = 4 *64/2 =128

  b = 128-70

  b = 58 m

Area of rectangle = lb = 70*58 = 4060 m²

Area of square = a*a = 64*64 = 4096 m²

∴ area of square is greater than the area of rectangle by 36 m²
