Perimeter of square plot = Perimeter of rectangle plot.

4 × side = 2( l + b ) .
4 × 40 = 2( l + 25 ) .
160 = 2l + 50 .
160 - 50 = 2l .
2l = 110 .
l = 110/2 .

l = 55 m.



Area of square = ( side ) ² .
= (40)² .
= 1600 m² .


Area of rectangle = l × b .
= 55 × 25 .
= 1375 m² .

Therefore, the square plot has larger area by [ 1600 - 1375 ] 225 m² .
