Two plots of lands have same perimeter. one is sq of side 60m, while other is rectangle whose breath is 1.5 dam. which plot has the greater area and by how much?

side of square field = 60

breadth of rectangular = 1.5 dam

= 15 m field

∴ perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangular

4 x 60 = 2 [l + b]

240 = 30 + 2L

210/2 = L

L = 105 m

square field

3^2 = 60 x 60

= 3600 m^2

rectangular field

area = Lb

= 105 x 30

= 3150 m^2

hence, square field has larger area by 450 m^2
