Given : The charges q₁ = 4 μC and q₂ = 10μC

Distance of separation d = 0.9 cm

To find : Position of point where intensity is zero

Step by Step Solution :

The point at which intensity is zero is called null point.

Position of null point from 4 micro coulomb charge is      x = \frac{d}{\sqrt{\frac{q_{2} }{q_{1} } }+1 }

x = \frac{0.9}{\sqrt{\frac{10 X 10^{-6} }{4 X 10^{-6} } }+1 }

x = \frac{0.9}{\sqrt{\frac{5}{2 } }+1 }

x = \frac{0.9}{2.58}

x = 0.35 cm

Hence intensity is zero at 0.35 cm from 4 micro coulomb charge.
