Two point charges q 2 = 3 x 10 -6 C and q 1 = 5 x 10 -6 C are located at (3, 5, 1) and (1, 3, 2) m. Find F12 and F21 using vector form of Coulomb’s law. Also, find their magnitude.

Answer:

Coulomb's law -

It states that magnitude of the electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between two point charges is

- directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of charges

- inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them

In vector form -

F = k.q1q2/r^2

For two charges q1 & q2 -

F12 = -F21
