3. The 8th and 9th abdominal terga are hidden by the 7th tegram. So, ventrally only the first seven sterna are visible.
4. The 7th, 8th and 9th abdominal segments invaginate to form a brood pouch, or gynatrium, which serves as a mound for the ootheca.
5. Anal styles are absent.
