Two poles, 18m high and 13 m high, stand upright in a playground. If their bases are 12m apart, find the distance between their tops

If we practically do this we find trepazium

If we cut side of pole of 18m and made two pole side epual to make we have to subtract 18-13 we find 5 now we have a triangle. Let name the triangle ABC now ab=5, bc=12 now we have to find AC. Now we use pythagores theorm.

 {h}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  +  {12}^{2}

 {h}^{2}  = 25 + 144

 {h}^{2}  = 169

h =  \sqrt{169}

H = 13

So the distance between their top is 13
