Two poles of height 8m and 20m stand vertically upright on the plane ground if the distance between there feet is 16m then find the distance between there tips

To find :

  • the distance between there tips

Solution :

AB = AD - CE ( CD = BD = 8)

AB = AD - BD

AB = 20 - 8

AB = 12 m

now,

ΔABC apply phythagoran theorem

AC² = AB² + BC²

AC² = 12² + 16²

AC² = 144 + 256

AC² = 400

AC = √400

AC = 20

Top distance is 20 cm
