of the wire fastened at their tops in 22 metre. Find the angle made by the wire with
the horizontal​

Let two poles AB and CD of heights 18 m and 7 are erected on a ground as shown in figure . Wire AC of length 22m fastened at their tops .

Put a point on AB in such a way that CE || BD .

so, BE = CD = 7 m -----(1)

We have to find angle made by the wire with the horizontal .

It means, we have to find out ∠ACE

first of all we have to find out AE .

Here, AE = AB - EB = AB - CD = 18m - 7m = 11m [ from equation (1),]

Now apply sin∠ACE = AE/AC

so, sin∠ACE = 11m/22m = 1/2 = sin30°

∠ACE = 30°

Hence, angle made by wire with the horizontal is 30°
