Two poles of height 6m
and 6+5m.
The distance between their feet is 12m.
From the above diagram
∆ ABC is a Right triangle
So, From Pythagoras theorem
AC² = AB² + BC²
AC² = 12² + 5²
= 144 + 25 = 169
AC = √169
AC = 13m
So, the distance between the tops of the poles is 13m
and 6+5m.
The distance between their feet is 12m.

∆ ABC is a Right triangle
So, From Pythagoras theorem
AC² = AB² + BC²
AC² = 12² + 5²
= 144 + 25 = 169
AC = √169
AC = 13m
So, the distance between the tops of the poles is 13m

height of 1st pole = 6m
height of 2nd pole = 11m
distance between their feet = 12m
vertical distance from the top of 1st pole to the top of 2nd pole = 11 - 6 = 5m
distance between their tops
AC^2 = (DE)^2 + (EF)^2
AC^2 = (12)^2 + (5)^2
AC^2 = 144 + 25 = 169
AC = √169 = 13m
Answer:
distance between their tops = 13m
