Two positively charged particles fixed in place on a straight line axis. The charges
are q1 = 1.9×10-19 C and q2 = 3.8×10-19 C, and the particle separation isR = 0.025
m. What are the magnitude and direction of the electrostatic force on particle 1
from particle 2?

Answer:

magnitude of electric force = kq1q2/r^2

                                             = 9x10^9x1.9x10^-19x3.8x10^-19 / (0.025)^2

                                             = 64.98x10^-29/0.000625

                                            = 10.3968x10^-25  N

the force is repulsive as both are positive charges(i.e like charges) and the direction is away from the particle 2 along the line joining the two charges.
