1. Potassium Sulphate that is taken in the test tube does not fall on the germinating seeds and the moist cotton below.
2. Also, the cork is fit tightly so that there is no loss of the carbondioxide produced.

2) The apparatus used must be air-tight .
3) KOH should be handled carefully , as it is corrosive in nature .
